Rider Levett Bucknall launches NSW infrastructure group

Wanting to capitalise on the $billions of infrastructure projects planned and currently underway in Australia, leading global property and cost consultancy Rider Levett Bucknall has added specialised Infrastructure cost, advisory and commercial management to their suite of services in NSW.

RLB Infrastructure commenced operations in Queensland several years ago and experienced such strong demand from both the private and public sectors for specific infrastructure related expertise that a national roll-out of the group is underway across the country, with NSW the first cab off the rank.

The NSW business was recently launched by Director, Matthew Harris. He is joined by Commercial Manager, Nick Best, an infrastructure quantity surveyor with a broad range of rail expertise including the UK's £9bn West Coast Modernisation Route.

The group's mission is to work collaboratively with clients to achieve the highest certainty of cost outcome on each infrastructure project. Cost and commercial management services across the range of infrastructure sectors are offered, covering all the stages from inception to completion.

Key focus sectors include mining & resources, rail, roads, bridges & tunnels, energy, marine, water, and aviation. Rider Levett Bucknall Infrastructure also has specialist experience in delivering infrastructure Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) having worked as part of the team for many of the recent Alliance bids.

Current key projects include the recent award as Independent Auditor for the PNG Government to assist in the closure program for the Ok Tedi mine, assisting Energy Australia in its substation roll out program and working with some of the key contractors currently delivering water treatment facilities around NSW.

Looking into the future, RLB Infrastructure see major contractors will experience increased pressure to deliver larger and more complex projects.

Mr Harris commented, "With the amount of infrastructure projects and their added complexity, expertise to deliver is stretched. We are seeing clients move more toward alliance contracts to deliver these projects in shorter timeframes," he said.
