Rider Levett Bucknall Wellington have been appointed by Ontrack (New Zealand Railways Corporation) to provide The Wellington Area Rail Project (WARP) with construction cost expertise. Rider Levett Bucknall will provide a cost audit service for the civil engineering and electrification works and cost advice on other elements of the WARP.
WARP, with a project budget of $250 million, involves upgrading the rail infrastructure system around the Wellington region to ensure it is able to cope with the arrival of new rolling stock and meet future public transport demands. It represents considerable investment in the areas rail network. The individual upgrades within the project are:
